Hey everyone! What's the cost to take the ACT? And do you know if there are any fee waivers or discounts available?
The cost to take the ACT without writing is $68, and with writing, it's $93. These fees include sending your scores to up to four colleges or universities. If you wish to send your scores to additional schools, there is a fee of $18.50 per recipient.
ACT does offer fee waivers to qualifying students who demonstrate financial need. To be eligible for a fee waiver, you must be a high school junior or senior, enrolled in a U.S. high school, and meet one or more of the specified income or assistance measures set by ACT, such as eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch, or enrollment in a federal assistance program. You can obtain a fee waiver by talking to your high school guidance counselor, who will have the necessary forms and be able to help you through the process.
Keep in mind that you are limited to two fee waivers throughout your high school career – one during your junior year and one during your senior year.
