Lowest GPA possible on a 4.0 scale?

So, I was wondering what is the lowest possible GPA on a 4.0 scale? I figured someone here might be able to help me understand how GPAs work better. Thanks!

On a 4.0 GPA scale, the lowest possible GPA is 0.0. The 4.0 GPA scale typically ranges from 0.0 to 4.0, with each letter grade corresponding to a specific numerical value:

- A (90-100%): 4.0

- B (80-89%): 3.0

- C (70-79%): 2.0

- D (60-69%): 1.0

- F (below 60%): 0.0

So, if a student received all F's (failing grades) in their coursework, their GPA would be 0.0. Keep in mind that some schools use a weighted GPA scale (e.g., 5.0 or 6.0) to account for advanced coursework like honors, AP, and IB classes. In these cases, the GPA range may be higher, but the lowest possible GPA would still be 0.0, unless the school also had a policy where a failing grade corresponds to something other than a 0.0.
