Difficulty level of getting into the University of South Florida?

Hi everyone, I'm getting my college list sorted and I really like the University of South Florida! I was just wondering, is it hard to get into? Like, what are the average GPAs and other stats for admitted students?

The University of South Florida (USF) is a moderately selective school. While ultimately the acceptance rate and the level of difficulty may vary from year to year, having a good understanding of the average academic profile for accepted students can be helpful when assessing your chances.

For Fall 2023, the acceptance rate was around 44%. The middle 50% SAT scores ranged from 1250 to 1400, while the middle 50% ACT scores ranged from 27 to 31. The average unweighted high school GPA for admitted students was ranged from 4.07 to 4.55. It's important to remember that these are just averages, and some students may have higher or lower stats depending on their individual circumstances.

In addition to your GPA and standardized test scores, USF will also consider your high school coursework's rigor and weigh extracurricular activities, leadership experiences, and personal essays. So, while these statistics give you an idea of what to aim for, the admissions process will consider other factors about your application as well.

Keep in mind that these numbers are subject to change and may not be accurate for future cycles. To improve your chances of admission, strive to maintain a strong GPA, perform well on standardized tests like the SAT or ACT, and have a solid set of extracurricular activities, volunteering experiences, and/or work experiences that demonstrate your passions and strengths. Good luck with your college application process!
