What ACT score is needed to get into Harvard?

I know Harvard is a super competitive school and all, but I'm just curious about what ACT score would realistically be needed to get accepted, assuming the rest of my application is strong.

It's important to understand that although standardized test scores are a component of the application, they're not the only deciding factor. However, knowing the range of accepted scores can be helpful in setting goals. For Harvard, the middle 50% ACT range for accepted students typically falls between 33 and 35. Keep in mind, this is just the middle 50% of students, meaning 25% of admitted students scored below a 33, and 25% scored above a 35.

To be a competitive applicant, you should aim to score within that middle 50% range or higher. However, remember that Harvard practices holistic admissions, meaning they carefully review all aspects of an applicant's profile, including grades, course rigor, extracurriculars, and essays. A strong application outside of test scores can still improve your chances of admission even if your ACT score is below the middle 50% range.

Don't forget that as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Harvard is no longer test-optional, so submitting an ACT score is required for the application. It's essential to focus on building a strong overall application to maximize your chances of admission to this highly competitive school.
