What do we get for ACT test breaks?

I'm kinda stressed about the ACT. How long are the breaks during the test? Will I have enough time to relax, stretch, or grab a snack? Thanks in advance.

Taking the ACT can indeed be stressful, but it's good to know about the breaks so you can prepare and manage your time. There are two breaks during the ACT, which depend on the sections and whether you're taking the ACT with or without the Writing section (the optional essay). Here's a detailed breakdown:

1. ACT without Writing:

- You'll have a 10-minute break after the first two sections, which are English and Math. Use this time to stretch, relax, and have a quick snack or drink water to stay focused.

2. ACT with Writing:

- After completing the English and Math sections, you'll get a 10-minute break, just like in the non-Writing version.

- After finishing the Reading and Science sections, there is a 5-minute break before you begin the Writing section. This break is shorter, so you might want to use it primarily to relax and mentally prepare for the essay portion.

Although the breaks aren't very long, they should be sufficient for you to stretch and have a quick snack. Just ensure that you have everything you need with you on the test day (like snacks, water, etc.) to make the most out of these breaks. Remaining aware of the time and pacing yourself will help you avoid unnecessary stress and maintain focus throughout the test. Good luck!
