NJIT SAT requirements?

Hi everyone! I'm interested in applying to NJIT, and I was wondering if anyone knows their current SAT requirements? Do they have a minimum score or do they practice a holistic approach? Also, does anyone know any tips on how to improve my chances of getting admitted? Thank you!

NJIT, or the New Jersey Institute of Technology, does not have a minimum SAT score requirement. Instead, they practice a holistic approach while evaluating applicants. This means that they consider various aspects of your application, such as your high school GPA, coursework rigor, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and essays, in addition to your SAT scores.

However, it's helpful to know the average SAT scores of admitted students to gauge your competitiveness. For the 2024-2025 application cycle, the middle 50% SAT scores for admitted students at NJIT were 1220-1460. While this information can help you understand where you might fall compared to other applicants, keep in mind that there are no hard cut-offs and there are students admitted with scores outside of this range.

To improve your chances of getting admitted, focus on maintaining a strong GPA, challenging yourself with rigorous coursework such as AP or Honors classes, and developing a strong interest or "spike" through your extracurricular activities. NJIT is known for its emphasis on STEM fields, so demonstrating passion and achievement in related areas can be particularly beneficial. Additionally, make sure to write strong essays that showcase your personality, character, and experiences. Be sure to ask for letters of recommendation from teachers or mentors who know you well, can speak to your strengths, and can offer unique insights about you as a student and individual.

Lastly, if NJIT offers any online information sessions or campus tours (if possible), consider attending to learn more about the campus, programs, and opportunities available. Although NJIT does not factor demonstrated interest into their admissions decision, gaining more information about the school can help you tailor your application essays to better align with NJIT's vision and values. Good luck with your application!
