I'm taking Pre-Calc next year but I was wondering if it's actually considered an AP class or something lower?
Pre-Calculus is not considered an AP (Advanced Placement) course. AP courses are college-level classes designed by the College Board, and successful completion of AP exams can potentially earn you college credits, depending on the college or university you attend.
Pre-Calculus, on the other hand, is a high school math course that covers advanced algebra, trigonometry, and other topics necessary to prepare students for Calculus. While Pre-Calculus is a crucial course for students planning to take higher-level math classes like AP Calculus AB or AP Calculus BC, it is not an AP course in itself. Still, taking Pre-Calculus demonstrates to colleges that you are challenging yourself academically and developing a solid foundation in mathematics.
