Is learning Japanese on my own an extracurricular activity?

Hey everyone! I'm teaching myself Japanese, but I'm not sure if this would count as an extracurricular activity for colleges. What do you think? Appreciate your input!

Hi there! It's great to hear that you're taking the initiative to learn a new language on your own. I believe that self-taught language learning can absolutely be considered an extracurricular activity for your college applications.

One important thing to keep in mind is how you demonstrate your commitment and progress in this activity. You could consider mentioning any specific study materials you've used, any relevant milestones you've achieved (like passing a proficiency test), or perhaps joining a club or community where you can practice your language skills.

Best of luck, and keep up the great work with your Japanese studies!
