RPI Male-Female Ratio: What's the balance?

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about applying to RPI, and I'm curious about the male-female ratio there. Can anyone share some information on the balance between male and female students? TIA!

Hi there! Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is known for its strong emphasis on STEM programs, and as a result, the male-female ratio tends to be skewed in favor of male students.

As of the most recent data, the undergraduate male-female ratio at RPI is approximately 69% male to 31% female. This imbalance is not uncommon for STEM-focused schools, but it's important to remember that campus culture and diversity is shaped by a wide range of factors beyond gender.

Nonetheless, RPI offers many resources and opportunities for students of all genders to collaborate, engage, and support one another. There are various clubs, organizations, and support systems in place that encourage interaction and community-building among all students. So, while the ratio may be skewed, RPI still maintains an environment where everyone has the potential to find their niche and thrive academically and socially. Good luck with your application!
