Is LSU hard to get into?

Hey folks! I'm a high school junior and I've been looking at Louisiana State University (LSU) as one of my top choices. Can anyone who's applied or knows about the admissions process, please share how difficult it is to get accepted into LSU?

LSU is moderately selective, with an acceptance rate of around 75% (as of the 2022 class). While this does mean that a significant number of applicants get accepted, it's still important to be competitive by having a solid academic profile and involvement in extracurricular activities.

To increase your chances of admission, it's helpful to look at the general admissions requirements and statistics for LSU. For the class of 2021, the middle 50% of admitted students had an ACT score between 23 and 30 and an SAT score between 1130 and 1320. Admitted students also had a high school GPA ranging from 3.2 to 3.8 (weighted on a 4.0 scale). However, these scores are simply a guideline, and your application will be evaluated holistically, taking into account your coursework, activities, and other factors.

It's good to have a mix of advanced coursework, like AP or honors classes, to show your ability to handle rigorous academics. In addition, being engaged in meaningful extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports, volunteer work, or leadership roles, will demonstrate your passions and interests outside of the classroom.

In conclusion, while LSU is not considered highly competitive, it's still essential to work on building a strong academic background and extracurricular involvement to increase your chances of getting accepted. Good luck!
