Princeton GPA Requirement?

I'm really interested in applying to Princeton, but I want to make sure my GPA is competitive. Does anyone know what the minimum or average GPA requirement is for incoming students? Thank you!

While Princeton doesn't have a strict GPA requirement for applicants, you could get a better understanding of your chances by looking at the academic profile of accepted students. For the Class of 2026, the average unweighted GPA for admitted students was 3.95 (on a 4.0 scale) and 68.4% of admitted students had a perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA. Keep in mind, though, that Princeton has a holistic review process, so your GPA is just one of many factors they will consider.

It's vital to demonstrate strong academic rigor, especially in your chosen field of interest. If you have a lower GPA, having a more rigorous course load with AP, IB, or Honors classes can help offset that. Make sure to work on other components of your application, such as standardized test scores (if you choose to submit them), essays, extracurriculars, and recommendation letters, to showcase your strengths and what makes you unique. Princeton seeks applicants with a well-rounded background and perspective, so excelling in those other areas can help balance out your overall application.
