GPA calculator for Texas A&M?

Hi all! I'm applying to Texas A&M and I want to figure out my GPA according to how they calculate it. Does anyone know of a GPA calculator specifically for Texas A&M, or can explain how to do it their way? All help is appreciated, thanks!

Texas A&M calculates applicants' GPAs using a 4.0 scale, and they only consider academic courses. Here's a breakdown of their GPA calculation process:

1. Convert your letter grades to their numeric values: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, and F=0. Weighted courses (AP, IB, or other honors courses) get an additional 1.0 point, but keep in mind that the maximum score for a weighted course is a 5.0.

2. Calculate the grade points for each course by multiplying the numeric grade value by the number of credit hours the course is worth. For example, if you received an A (4.0) in a 1 credit hour course, you would have earned 4 grade points. If you received a B (3.0) in a 0.5 credit hour course worth bonus points, you would have earned 2 (3+1) = 8 grade points.

3. Determine the total number of credit hours you've taken by adding together the credit hours for all academic courses. Be sure to include the weighted courses only if there's an additional weight assigned by your high school.

4. Add up the total grade points you've earned for all academic courses.

5. Finally, divide the total grade points by the total number of credit hours to find your GPA.

As an example, let's say you took the following classes:

- English (A, 1 credit)

- History (B, 1 credit)

- AP Calculus (B, 2 credits)

- Spanish (C, 1 credit)

Total credit hours: 1+1+2+1 = 5

Total grade points: (41) + (31) + (42) + (21) = 4+3+8+2 = 17

GPA: 17/5 = 3.4

Please note that this is just a general guidance on how to calculate your GPA for Texas A&M. The admissions office is the most authoritative source for their GPA calculation policies, so it's always a good idea to reach out to them if you have specific questions about your situation during the application process. Good luck!
