Hey there! FRQs in AP Calc BC can be quite tricky, but with some practice and strategies, you'll certainly improve. Here are some tips to help you approach and solve them:

1. Read the problem carefully: Fully understand what the question is asking and identify all given information. Take note of derivatives, integrals, or equations provided, as well as any constraints or conditions.

2. Highlight or underline important information: This will help you quickly locate crucial details as you work on the problem, especially when dealing with multi-part questions.

3. Plan your approach: Once you understand the problem, think about which techniques or theorems you can apply. This could include differentiation, integration, L'Hopital's rule, or any other concepts you've learned.

4. Write legibly and stay organized: Keep your work clean and organized, as this will help both you and the grader. Clearly label your steps, and make sure to include units when necessary.

5. Look for connections between parts: Some FRQs have multiple parts that build upon each other. Recognize how each part relates to others, and use prior results to solve later parts, if applicable.

6. Show work and justifications: On FRQs, method and explanation are often worth more than the final answer. Clearly show each step in your calculations and provide justifications for any assumptions, estimations, or choices.

7. Time management: Practice working under timed conditions to get a feel for how long you should spend on each question. Typically, you have about 15 minutes per FRQ, so allocate your time wisely.

8. Review past exams: The College Board has released previous years' FRQs along with scoring guidelines. Practice these, and compare your solutions with the official ones to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
