ASU auto admit criteria?

Hey everyone! I've heard that ASU has some sort of auto-admit policy for certain students. Does anyone know more about this and what factors are considered, like GPA and test scores?

Yes, Arizona State University (ASU) has an auto-admit policy for incoming freshmen who meet certain criteria. Generally, if you fall into one of the following categories, you'll be automatically admitted to ASU:

1. Be an Arizona resident and rank in the top 25% of your high school graduating class, while completing the required competency courses. For this, your high school has to be regionally accredited, and class rank can be determined by GPA.

2. Obtain a 3.0 GPA (unweighted) in the required competency courses, regardless of your high school class rank. These competency courses include English, math, laboratory science, social science, foreign language, and fine arts. For GPA calculation, ASU uses a 4.0 scale.

3. Have a minimum SAT score of 1120 (for Evidence-Based Reading and Writing plus Mathematics) or an ACT composite score of 22 or higher. This is applicable for students who took the SAT or ACT prior to 2024-2025 application cycle. ASU is currently test-optional, and submitting test scores is not required for admission consideration, but meeting these test score criteria will qualify for automatic admission.

Keep in mind that these are just the basic criteria to be automatically admitted to the university. To be considered for specific programs or majors, you may need to meet additional requirements. It's a good idea to check the details on ASU's website and contact the admissions office if you have any questions about program-specific requirements.

Best of luck with your application!
