Good ACT score for Ivy League admissions?

Hey guys, I'm aiming for some Ivy League schools next year and I'm not quite sure what ACT score range I should be targeting. Can anyone share their experience or insight on what a competitive ACT score would be for top-tier schools like those in the Ivy League? Thanks in advance!

To be considered competitive for Ivy League admissions, you should aim for an ACT score in the top percentile range for these schools. Generally speaking, a score of 33 or higher will put you in a strong position, with 34-36 being the most competitive scores. However, it's essential to understand that admissions to Ivy League universities are holistic, meaning that your ACT score is just one part of your overall application.

That being said, while a high ACT score won't guarantee you admission, it can certainly help improve your chances, especially when combined with excellent grades, strong extracurricular involvement, and compelling essays. It's also important to note that there may be slight differences in average admitted ACT scores among the individual Ivy League schools. You can typically find this information on each school's admissions website or look up their class profiles.

Keep in mind that some Ivy League schools still remain test-optional due to the ongoing effects of the pandemic, so your application can still be considered without ACT or SAT scores. However, if you're able to take the test and achieve a strong score, it will only bolster your application.

In conclusion, aim for a 33+ on the ACT, but also focus on balancing your application with excellent grades, impactful extracurricular activities, and strong essays, as these will be equally important in the admissions process.
