Private Colleges and Universities in New Jersey

Hi guys, I'm from New Jersey and want to stay in-state for college. Can anyone recommend some great private colleges and universities in NJ? I'm planning to study either business or engineering. Thanks!

Hi there! New Jersey has some excellent private colleges and universities that offer strong programs in both business and engineering. Some of them include:

1. Princeton University: Known for its strong engineering programs and highly ranked undergraduate business program, Princeton offers a great option for students interested in either field. The School of Engineering and Applied Science offers various engineering majors, while the economics department houses the business program, which has a focus on finance.

2. Stevens Institute of Technology: Located in Hoboken, Stevens is a technology-focused university with well-regarded programs in engineering, as well as a business school that offers several concentrations. The school's location near New York City provides plenty of opportunities for internships at major companies.

3. Drew University: Though Drew doesn't offer engineering programs, it does have a business program within its College of Liberal Arts. The business program offers concentrations in various areas, including finance and marketing, with an emphasis on experiential learning.

4. Seton Hall University: Seton Hall’s Stillman School of Business has a good reputation within the region. Though the university does not have its own engineering program, it does offer joint programs in engineering with the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), where students can earn a degree from both institutions.

5. Fairleigh Dickinson University: FDU has two campuses in New Jersey, one in Madison and another in Teaneck. The Silberman College of Business offers undergraduate programs, while the Gildart Haase School of Computer Sciences and Engineering delivers various engineering majors at both campuses.

Each of these institutions has its own unique strengths and atmosphere, so it's important to explore them further, visit their campuses, and find the one that aligns best with your academic and career goals. Good luck with your college search!
