Hey everyone! I'm trying to finalize my list of schools and Hampton University is one of my top choices. Can anyone tell me if they are test-optional or if I need to submit my SAT/ACT scores? Thanks in advance!
Hampton University is currently test-optional for most applicants for the 2024-2025 application cycle. This policy means that you have the choice to submit your SAT or ACT scores or not, depending on whether you feel they accurately represent your academic ability.
If you believe your test scores add value to your application, you can go ahead and submit them; otherwise, your application will be evaluated based on other components, such as your GPA, extracurriculars, and so on.
If you're unsure whether or not to submit a test score to Hampton, I'd check out this blog post from CollegeVine, which provides detailed guidance on how to navigate test-optional policies: https://blog.collegevine.com/does-test-optional-mean-test-optional
Do note that students with a GPA below 3.3 (unweighted) do have to submit a test score. So, if your GPA is below that benchmark, make sure you invest time and energy into preparing for the SAT, to ensure your academic readiness for college comes across to Hampton's admissions officers.
Good luck with your application to Hampton University!
