Looking for UB grade calculator – any recommendations?

Hey everybody! I'm a high school junior and I'm looking into the University at Buffalo (UB). Does anyone know of an online tool or grade calculator that could help me figure out my GPA specifically for UB's requirements? Thanks in advance for any info!

Hey there! While I don't have a University at Buffalo-specific calculator, I can offer some guidance on how to calculate your own GPA that aligns with UB's requirements. UB uses a weighted 4.0 scale GPA system. To calculate your GPA for UB, follow these steps:

1. Convert your letter grades to GPA points according to this scale: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0.

2. For any honors courses, you'll add a 0.5 weight to your GPA point (e.g., B in an honors class would be 3.5 instead of 3).

3. For any AP or IB courses, you'll add a 1.0 weight to your GPA point (e.g., B in an AP/IB class would be 4.0 instead of 3).

4. Calculate the average of your converted grades by adding up the GPA points (including any extra weight) and dividing the sum by the total number of courses.

Keep in mind that each high school might have different grading systems and course weights so it's always a good idea to consult with your guidance counselor to better understand your school's specific requirements.

Also, when applying to colleges like UB, remember that they will consider other aspects of your application, such as standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, and essays.

I hope that helps you out! Good luck with your college search and application process!
