When should I take the SAT/ACT?

Hi friends, I'm a junior who's trying to decide when to take the SAT/ACT. I want to give myself enough time to prepare and potentially retake it if needed. When do you guys recommend taking these tests? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hey there! I understand how important it is to plan ahead for the SAT/ACT. My child went through the same process not too long ago. Generally, I'd recommend taking the SAT/ACT for the first time during the second half of your junior year. This gives you enough time to learn the material and prep for the exam. Most students take it between March and June of their junior year. Remember, you can take these tests multiple times, so don't stress too much about getting the perfect score on your first attempt. If you're not satisfied with your initial score, you can retake the test in the fall of your senior year. Keep in mind that college application deadlines are usually around November or December, so you'll want to have your final scores by then. Good luck on your test prep, and I hope this advice helps! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.
