ECU's SAT requirements

Hello everyone! I've been researching East Carolina University (ECU) and I think it could be a great fit for me. However, I'm struggling to find information on their SAT requirements for admissions. Can anyone clue me in on what kind of SAT scores they generally seek from applicants? Thanks a bunch!

Hi there! East Carolina University (ECU) has adopted a test-optional policy for the 2024-2025 application cycle, which means you are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores during the admissions process. However, you're welcome to submit test scores if you feel they accurately represent your academic abilities and could strengthen your application.

If you decide to submit your SAT scores, it's helpful to know the middle 50% SAT score range for admitted students at ECU. According to their admissions data, the middle 50% of admitted students have an SAT score between 1040 and 1240 (on a 1600-point scale).

Keep in mind that these figures are only a general guideline and do not guarantee admission. ECU also considers factors such as grade point average (GPA), strength of high school curriculum, essays, and involvement in extracurricular activities when making admissions decisions. A well-rounded application can help showcase your strengths even if your test scores fall outside of the stated range.

Good luck with your application to ECU!
