Hi everyone! I'm a junior and super intrigued by West Chester University. Does anyone know their admission requirements as well as GPA and test score expectations? Your help is greatly appreciated!
Hello! West Chester University (WCU) is a public institution in Pennsylvania with a wide range of academic programs. In order to apply, you'll need to submit the following materials:
1. WCU's online application or the Common Application
2. Official high school transcripts
3. SAT or ACT scores (WCU is test-optional for the 2023 and 2024 application years, so you can choose whether to submit test scores or not)
4. $45 application fee (waivers available for eligible students)
WCU takes a holistic approach to reviewing applications, so they consider your entire application, including your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and any other information you provide.
As for GPA and test score expectations, the middle 50% of accepted students for Fall 2024 had a high school GPA between 3.36 and 3.89 (on a 4.0 scale), while the middle 50% SAT scores were between 1100-1250 (out of 1600). Keep in mind that these are just rough guidelines, and students with higher or lower scores can still be accepted.
However, due to WCU being test-optional for the time being, they may place a greater emphasis on other factors, such as your high school curriculum rigor, class rank, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Make sure to present a strong application that showcases your interests, accomplishments, and potential contributions to the WCU community.
Good luck with your application!
