Can I submit my art portfolio as a supplement even if I'm not majoring in art?

Hi all! I'm planning on majoring in engineering, but I'm also really passionate about art and have a strong portfolio. Is it possible to submit my art portfolio as a supplement to my college applications, even though I'm not planning to major in art? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! It's great to hear that you're passionate about art and have a strong portfolio. While it's true that some colleges may primarily look for art portfolios from applicants intending to major in art or a related field, many schools are also open to considering supplemental materials that showcase your talents and interests outside of your intended major. It's important to remember that colleges are looking for well-rounded students who will contribute to the campus community in various ways. Your art skills could definitely be an asset, even if you're majoring in engineering, as art demonstrates creativity. I would recommend checking the admissions requirements of the colleges you're applying to, as each school may have different policies regarding supplemental materials. If you're unsure, don't hesitate to reach out to the admissions office for clarification. It's always better to ask than to miss out on an opportunity to showcase your talents. Best of luck with your applications, and I hope your passion for art continues to thrive alongside your engineering studies!
