FSU grade calculator?

Hey everyone, I'm applying to FSU and I'm trying to figure out my GPA based on their methodology. Is there an online calculator or something that I can use specific to FSU? Thanks!

Hey there! FSU calculates GPA using a weighted method and only includes core academic classes (English, Math, Science, Social Science, and Foreign Language). They add a 0.5 weight for honors courses and a 1.0 weight for AP, IB, AICE, and dual enrollment courses. Here's a simple way to calculate your weighted GPA specific to FSU:

1. Assign a point value to each of your core academic class's letter grades:

- A = 4

- B = 3

- C = 2

- D = 1

- F = 0

2. Add the appropriate weighting for honors and advanced courses:

- Honors course: Add 0.5 to the point value.

- AP/IB/AICE/Dual enrollment course: Add 1.0 to the point value.

3. Multiply each course's point value (with weighting) by the number of credits the course is worth, and then add them all up.

4. Divide the sum by the total number of credits for those core courses.

Here's an example:

- English: A in an honors course (4 + 0.5) x 1 credit = 4.5

- Math: B in an AP course (3 + 1) x 1 credit = 4

- Science: C in a regular course (2) x 1 credit = 2

Total points = 10.5

Total credits = 3

FSU Weighted GPA = 10.5 / 3 = 3.5

Keep in mind that this is just a general guideline and FSU may apply the weighting differently based on their evaluation. For a more in-depth understanding, you can also reach out to FSU's admissions office to clarify any questions you may have related to their GPA calculation method. Good luck with your application!
