Is it possible to apply Early Decision to multiple colleges?

I've been working on my college list and am considering applying Early Decision to some of my top choices. I'm wondering if it's possible to apply ED to multiple schools at the same time? I know it's binding if accepted, but what if I'm not sure which school I prefer? Would applying ED to both boost my chances? Any advice or experiences would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I understand that choosing between top choice schools can be tough, but unfortunately, you can't apply Early Decision to multiple colleges. The reason being, Early Decision is a binding commitment, meaning if you're accepted, you agree to enroll in that college and withdraw all other applications. It's designed for students who have a clear first choice and are confident they want to attend the school they're applying ED to.

On the other hand, you can consider applying Early Action to multiple schools. Early Action is non-binding, which means you'll receive an early admissions decision but are not obligated to attend. This way, you can still take advantage of applying early without making a binding commitment.

In summary, applying ED to multiple schools is not allowed, and it's important to be sure about your top choice before selecting this option. Instead, you can opt for Early Action at multiple schools to boost your chances without the binding aspect. Good luck with your applications!
