Questbridge National College Match as Early Decision?

Hello everyone! I'm a high school senior who recently found out about Questbridge National College Match, and I was wondering if anyone could clarify whether this program is considered early decision, early action, or its own separate category. If I get matched to a school through Questbridge, is it legally binding like early decision or is it nonbinding? Thanks for your help!

Hello! It's great that you're considering Questbridge National College Match. The program is actually a bit different from both early decision and early action. When you apply to the College Match, you'll rank up to 12 partner colleges in order of your preference and submit your application.

The matching process is indeed binding, so if you're matched with a college, you're expected to attend that institution and withdraw all other applications. Think of it as a binding early decision, but with a twist, because if you aren't matched with a college, you'll still have the opportunity to apply to partner schools through Questbridge Regular Decision, which is nonbinding.

The great advantage of being matched through Questbridge is that you'll receive a full four-year scholarship, making it an incredibly valuable opportunity for high-achieving, low-income students. So, while it is indeed a binding agreement if you get matched, the program offers amazing financial support. Best of luck with your application!
