MIT student population?

Hi! I'm considering applying to MIT, but I'm not sure about the size of the student population. Does anyone know how many students attend MIT (undergraduate and graduate) and what the overall campus atmosphere is like?

MIT has a fairly balanced undergraduate and graduate student population. As of Fall 2021, there were approximately 4,600 undergraduate students and around 7,000 graduate students, making a total student population of roughly 11,600.

The campus atmosphere at MIT is known for its combination of academic rigor and collaborative environment. Students at MIT are passionate about STEM, problem-solving, and invention. While the coursework is challenging, many students find that the collaborative nature of the campus helps them navigate through the tough material and develop strong relationships with their peers.

MIT has a strong sense of community, and students often engage in various clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities to balance their academic commitments. The Institute is also known for its "hacker culture," which consists of friendly pranks and creative exploration.

The campus provides various resources to support students academically, professionally, and personally, creating an overall environment that fosters growth and fosters a driven, innovative community of learners. Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary, but overall, MIT has a reputation for its focus on innovation, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.
