APs that are good for self-study?

I'm interested in self-studying for an additional AP, but I'm not sure which one to choose. Could anyone share their experience or suggestions on which AP subjects are best for self-study?

There are several AP subjects that people often find suitable for self-study, but it varies from person to person, depending on personal interests and strengths. Here is a list of APs that many students have found manageable and successful to self-study:

1. AP Psychology: This course is relatively straightforward and requires mostly memorization of terms and concepts. The textbook, "Myers' Psychology for AP," is a popular resource for self-study, and there are many available online resources to help further grasp the material.

2. AP Human Geography: This is another content-based course and is often considered less challenging compared to other APs. The textbook, "The Cultural Landscape: An Introduction to Human Geography," is widely used. Using online vocabulary flashcards and practice tests can enhance your understanding of the concepts.

3. AP Environmental Science: While this course may require some independent laboratory work, the content is generally regarded as easier to grasp. The textbook "Friedland and Relyea: Environmental Science for AP" can be your main source of information. Supplement your studies with online resources and practice exams as well.

4. AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics: These subjects can be self-studied if you have a strong foundation in math and enjoy working with graphs and formulas. "Principles of Economics" by N. Gregory Mankiw is a commonly used resource. Online resources, such as Khan Academy, can be helpful in reinforcing economic concepts.

5. AP Computer Science Principles: If you have an interest in coding and technology, this can be a great course to self-study. You will need access to a computer and internet, as well as materials for completing the performance tasks (Create and Explore). Code.org is a popular online resource, offering a full curriculum for this course.

6. AP United States Government & Politics: This is content-based and requires memorization, but many students have found it manageable for self-study. Good resources include "American Government: Institutions & Policies" by James Q. Wilson and John J. Dilulio, as well as online practice tests and resources.

When selecting an AP to self-study, it's important to choose a subject that aligns with your interests and learning style. Doing so will increase your engagement with the material, and ultimately improve your chances of success. Don't be afraid to use multiple resources, seek advice from others who have self-studied the subject, and start early to give yourself ample time to prepare for the exam. Good luck!
