Minimum HL course requirement for the IB diploma?

I'm currently researching the IB diploma program for my senior year, and I'm a bit unclear about the required number of Higher Level (HL) courses. What's the minimum number of HL courses I need to take in order to obtain an IB diploma? Thanks for your help!

Hello! It's great to see you're interested in the IB diploma program. To answer your question, the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) requires students pursuing an IB diploma to take a minimum of 3 Higher Level (HL) courses and a maximum of 4. You'll also need to take at least 3 Standard Level (SL) courses, to make a total of 6 subjects. These subjects should cover the core areas mandated by the IBO, which include language and literature, individuals and societies, experimental sciences, mathematics, and the arts.

In addition to your coursework, you'll need to complete the three core components of the IB program: the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). These components are designed to provide a well-rounded education and develop important skills for life beyond the classroom. Best of luck with your senior year and the IB diploma program!
