Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute SAT requirements?

I have RPI on my college list and I'm trying to figure out what SAT scores they typically look for in applicants. Can anyone provide some insight on what score range I should be aiming for? Thanks in advance!

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is a competitive school, and while they do consider a holistic review of applicants when making admissions decisions, your SAT score is still an essential part of your application. For the middle 50% of admitted students, SAT scores typically range from 1360 to 1520. This means that about 25% of admitted students score below 1360, and another 25% score above 1520.

Aiming for a score within this range can make your application competitive, but keep in mind that a high SAT score alone is not a guarantee of admission. Your overall application, including coursework and extracurricular involvement, essays, and letters of recommendation, should be well-rounded and show your strengths.

It's also important to note that RPI is test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle, which means you can choose whether or not to submit your SAT or ACT scores with your application. If you believe your SAT score does not accurately reflect your abilities or potential, you can still apply without submitting standardized test scores. However, if your score falls within or above RPI's middle 50% range and you feel confident about other aspects of your application, submitting your score can be beneficial.

Best of luck with your college application process!
