Hey guys, I'm very interested in applying to Rice University. Can someone please tell me about their SAT and ACT score requirements? I can't seem to find a clear answer on their website. Thanks!
As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Rice University has adopted a test-optional policy. This means that you have the option to submit your SAT or ACT scores, but they are not required for your application. If you choose not to submit test scores, your application will still be considered, and more emphasis will be placed on other aspects of your application, such as your grades, extracurricular activities, essays, and recommendation letters.
If you decide to submit your test scores, you might aim for scores that are within the middle 50% range for Rice's admitted students. For the SAT, this range is typically around 1500-1560, and for the ACT, it's generally around 34-36. Keep in mind that these are not strict cutoffs, and students with scores outside of this range are still admitted each year. Your overall application, including your spike and demonstrated potential in your chosen field of study, will matter more than just your test scores.
Best of luck with your application to Rice University!
