Difference between Notre Dame College and University?

I've been hearing a lot about both Notre Dame College and the University of Notre Dame. I'm not sure about the differences between the two. Can anyone share, are these the same institution or two different schools? Thanks!

I can see how the names might be causing confusion! Notre Dame College and the University of Notre Dame are indeed two separate institutions.

Notre Dame College is a small, private liberal arts college located in South Euclid, Ohio. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs, with a focus on personalized education and a close-knit community. Notre Dame College has around 1,700 students and offers degrees in a range of areas such as business, nursing, education, and arts and sciences.

On the other hand, the University of Notre Dame is a well-known, larger private research university located in Notre Dame, Indiana. It is often referred to simply as "Notre Dame" and has a strong national reputation. The University of Notre Dame has approximately 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students and offers a wide variety of degree programs through its different colleges and schools, such as business, engineering, architecture, arts and letters, and sciences.

In summary, while both institutions share the "Notre Dame" name, they differ in location, size, focus, and reputation. Make sure to research each school thoroughly to better understand their offerings, campus environment, and program offerings to see which might be a better fit for your academic and personal preferences.
