Thoughts on Berry College's engineering program?

I'm a high school junior exploring colleges with good engineering programs. I came across Berry College and was wondering if anyone has any input on their engineering program? Are there any strong concentrations, and how are their research opportunities and internships? Thanks!

Berry College offers a relatively new, yet growing engineering program. The engineering dual-degree program partners with well-established engineering institutions such as Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State University. In this program, you would typically spend three years at Berry College and then two years at one of the partner institutions to complete both a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a major of your choice at Berry College and a BS in Engineering at the partner institution.

One of the unique aspects of Berry's program is its strong liberal arts foundation. In the first three years, you'll have the opportunity to develop well-rounded skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication that are valuable in any engineering field.

As for research opportunities and internships, they might not be as plentiful compared to larger institutions or universities focused mainly on engineering. However, the smaller student population at Berry allows for closer relationships with professors, which could lead to potential research projects and mentorship. Since Berry is located in close proximity to Atlanta, the opportunities for internships and co-ops are available in various industries nearby.

While the engineering concentration might not be as strong as larger, dedicated engineering institutions, Berry's dual-degree program allows you to develop a unique skillset and have a supportive, well-rounded undergraduate experience. Make sure to visit the campus or attend a virtual open house to further explore their offerings, facilities, and faculty. Additionally, don't hesitate to reach out to current students or alumni to get firsthand feedback on their experiences in the program.
