Double Bachelor's Degrees from Different Schools: Feasible or Nah?

Just wondering out loud here, is it possible to get two bachelor's degrees from different schools? Like, if I wanted to major in Anthropology at one school and Biochemistry at another?

In most cases, you won't be able to earn two bachelor's degrees simultaneously at separate institutions due to logistical constraints. You'd need to divide your time, energy, and academic focus between two campuses, which most institutions will not allow.

This is, in part, because many colleges require that you complete a certain proportion of your coursework "in residence," which means directly through them. This regulation aims to ensure that you receive a cohesive educational experience within the college community.

What you could consider instead is a double major or dual degree program within the same college or university. A double major is when you study two disciplines while still working towards just one degree - for example, you could study both Anthropology and Biochemistry and end up with a Bachelor's of Science with two majors. A dual degree program is where you work toward two separate degrees simultaneously, which usually takes some extra time and planning, but achieves the same goal of expertise in two different fields.

Or, if you're interested in two fields of study that are very different and may not be both available at one institution, you could consider going for a bachelor's degree in one of the fields, and then possibly a master's degree in the other.

Remember, this is a big decision and a commitment, so ensure that your interests in both fields are equally high. And most importantly, keep in mind that what matters isn't the number of your degrees or majors but the depth of your learning and how well you can apply it in your subsequent professional life.
