Western Washington University's Engineering Programs?

Hi everyone, I'm pretty interested in engineering and Western Washington caught my eye. Do they have strong engineering programs? Would appreciate any information on this.

Western Washington University (WWU) does offer engineering programs through its College of Science and Engineering and they are indeed quite well-regarded. Specifically, they offer degrees in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics & Composites Engineering, Industrial Design and Industrial Technology.

One key aspect of WWU's approach is the focus on hands-on experience. The programs often incorporate laboratory work, projects, and internships to provide a practical understanding of engineering principles. This means that, by the time you graduate, you'll have more than just theoretical knowledge; you'll have applied your learning in real-world contexts.

Another point to highlight is the size of the classes. The student-faculty ratio at WWU is quite favorable, which means you'll have more opportunity for one-on-one interaction with professors, can get answers and help when you need them, and are more likely to be engaged during class. This professor accessibility can make a big difference in your academic experiences.

Lastly, consider what you'd like to do after you graduate. WWU has strong ties with regional industries and businesses, so they can often help students find internships and job opportunities. Plus, they have a strong alumni network in the engineering field which can be of great advantage for job placements and references.

As with any college decision, I’d encourage you to do as much research as you can and, if possible, talk to current students or alumni to get a sense of what the engineering programs are really like. Good luck!
