Opinions on CSU Channel Islands?

Hey there! I'm currently researching colleges and CSU Channel Islands has popped up a few times. I can't seem to find a lot of student experiences online though. Has anyone here attended or heard anything about it? Would you say it's a strong school academically? Thanks!

CSU Channel Islands is known for offering a personalized, interdisciplinary education. It's the youngest of the California State University campuses, founded in 2002, and has a smaller student population compared to other CSU schools. This can result in smaller class sizes and often gives students more opportunities to interact with professors.

In terms of academic strengths, it's highly regarded for its Business and Psychology programs. Additionally, the campus is known to be quite beautiful, with a unique location on the site of a former state mental hospital. It's a quick ride away from some beautiful beaches, providing an attractive backdrop for your studies.

However, due to its relatively recent establishment, it doesn’t quite have the same reputation and breadth of resources as some older, larger institutions. Its alumni network, while growing, isn't as extensive as those of more established universities.

Also, remember that the academic reputation of a college is just one facet to consider. It's crucial to think about factors like campus culture, location, extracurricular opportunities, and financial aid offerings when determining if a school is a good fit for you.

Just note that CSU CI, like all other CSU and UC schools as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, is test-blind, which means these schools do not consider SAT or ACT scores in their admissions process. In the end, it depends on what you're looking for in a university experience. Hope this helps a bit!
