Thoughts on GMU's Political Science program?

Hey all, I'm a junior doing some early scouting for colleges. Have heard some good stuff about the Political Science program at George Mason University. Any legit opinions or experiences?

George Mason University's Political Science program is recognized as one of the better ones diversely focusing on areas like American Politics, Global Politics, Comparative Politics, and Political Theory. Many students especially appreciate the faculty who are practicing professionals and bring real-world experiences to the classroom.

The proximity of the campus to Washington D.C. is a definite plus - it provides students the invaluable opportunity to have internships and jobs in federal agencies, think tanks, and non-profit organizations. Basically, it’s like having a political lab right at your doorstep.

Furthermore, GMU offers a plethora of political organizations and clubs such as Model United Nations and Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science honor society), which could provide you with networking opportunities and allow you to apply some of the concepts you learn in the classroom.

Remember to look at the fit beyond the major - campus culture, opportunities for other interests you have, financial aid, and so on. But if Poli Sci is your main interest, GMU is a strong choice for sure.
