Where is Illinois Tech Located?

Just a quick question here; where exactly is Illinois Tech located? I'm trying to factor in location into my decision for colleges and I want to know more about the area around this school. Any student experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Illinois Institute of Technology, often referred to as Illinois Tech, is located in Chicago, Illinois. It's situated on the South Side of the city, specifically in a neighborhood known as Bronzeville. The area of Bronzeville has a rich cultural history and is sometimes referred to as the city's "Black Metropolis" due to its significant contributions to African-American history and culture.

While living in Bronzeville, you're not too far away from the heart of the city. Downtown Chicago, also known as the Loop, is about 3 miles away, so students often engage with the wider city for work experience, entertainment, and exploration. The campus is also near Lake Michigan, offering plenty of outdoor activities in and around the lake.

Being in Chicago brings lots of opportunities, like attending local tech meetups, engaging in internships with well-known companies, or even just exploring the city's food, arts, and culture scenes.
