Deciding on a Major at Grambling State University

Hi everyone! Anyone here who studies at Grambling State? I'm applying this fall and I'm not fully decided on a major yet. What are some popular or really interesting majors there? Any thoughts or experiences about this would be helpful.

Hello!

First off, it's quite normal to be unsure about your major. Many students go into college undecided and take a variety of classes before they decide. The flexibility in most programs leaves room to explore.

As for Grambling State University, it offers a wide variety of undergraduate majors. A few areas the university is especially known for are Business Management, Criminal Justice, and Kinesiology and Exercise Science.

Business Management at Grambling State is quite popular and has been recognized for preparing students with the skills necessary for success in business in an increasingly global economy. If you're interested in law enforcement or public safety, you might consider Criminal Justice. This major provides a solid foundation on the justice system and the social and theoretical aspects of crime. Kinesiology & Exercise Science is another interesting major there, especially if you're interested in the science of body movement and wish to pursue careers in areas like sports management, physical therapy, or fitness consulting.

Also, don't forget that many students start out undecided and then use their first year or two of college to explore different fields of study, either through their general education requirements or electives. This could be a good option if you're still unsure where you want to concentrate your studies.

Remember, selecting your major is a personal decision and should align with your long-term goals and interests. You might find it useful to make an appointment with a college counselor, who could provide further guidance based on your personal academic and career aspirations. Good luck with your applications!
