Is SMU's computer science program reputable?

I've been having a hard time ranking different computer science programs. Came across Southern Methodist University's and I'm curious, anyone heard good stuff about their CS program? Really need some insight, thanks!

Southern Methodist University (SMU) does have a strong Computer Science program in their Lyle School of Engineering. It's known for combining solid technical skills development with courses that aim to foster creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.

One of the standout aspects of SMU's program is the access to internship and co-op opportunities in the Dallas area, which is a major tech hub. Many students gain real-world experience that not only enhances their resume, but also gives them applied understanding of the computer science domains they learn about in class.

Additionally, SMU's Computer Science program offers students the chance to specialize in areas like Networking and Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, and more, giving you the freedom to tailor your education to your interests and career aspirations.

Another advantage is the strong industry connections the department has. This can prove invaluable when you're looking for internships or job opportunities post-graduation.

Don't forget about class sizes as well - many students find the smaller class sizes at SMU conducive to learning, as they can get personalized attention from professors.

Of course, it's still essential to think about whether the school as a whole fits your needs, including its location, social scene, and overall campus atmosphere. But as far as Computer Science goes, SMU definitely offers a reputable program! Remember though, while rankings can provide a general overview, the best program will often depend on your personal preferences and career goals.
