Looking at women's volleyball colleges—what are the top choices?

Hey guys, I'm pretty solid at volleyball and am considering playing through college. Could anyone tell me which colleges offer some of the top women's volleyball programs?

Absolutely, and it's wonderful to see that you're planning to extend your passion for volleyball into your college years. College women's volleyball competes on the NCAA level, and there are genuinely top-notch programs nested throughout the Divisions I, II, and III hierarchy.

In Division I, three schools have often been recognized for maintaining very competitive volleyball programs. These include:

1. Stanford University: Stanford has a rich tradition of successful women's volleyball programs and boasts numerous national championships.

2. University of Nebraska – Lincoln: The Cornhuskers are another top-ranking women's volleyball program and frequently compete in the national championships.

3. University of Texas at Austin: The Longhorns have demonstrated consistent excellence in volleyball, with regular NCAA tournament appearances and high finishes.

In Division II, here are three rivaled programs:

1. Tampa University: The Spartans have an incredible record in Division II and continually rank within the top spots nationally.

2. Concordia University, St. Paul: The Golden Bears hold an outstanding record, including multiple Division II championships.

3. Cal State San Bernardino: The Coyotes have had significant success recently and often appear in the national rankings.

In Division III, some of the strongest programs include:

1. Calvin College: The Knights have been one of the strongest teams in Division III over recent years with multiple national championships.

2. Emory University: Emory's team is traditionally very strong and competes at a high level.

3. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges: CMS has a rich tradition of success in Division III volleyball.

Remember, volleyball is more than just the competition; you will want to consider other factors such as academics, campus culture, location, size of the school, and your potential fit within the team. Good luck as you continue to examine potential colleges!
