Is the University of Chicago a safe campus?

Hey everyone, so the University of Chicago has been on my radar, but safety is pretty high up on my list of considerations. Any thoughts on the safety of the campus and its surrounding area? Juggling academics with worries of safety is something I'm hoping to avoid.
