Tufts University diversity?

I'm considering Tufts University for my college applications and I was wondering how diverse the campus is. Can anyone share their experiences or thoughts on the inclusiveness and diversity at Tufts?

Tufts University is generally known for embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive environment. According to the Class of 2023 profile, 42% of the class identifies as White, 10% of students identify as Hispanic or Latinx, 6.5% as Black or African American, 17% as Asian, and 8% as two or more races. Additionally, around 12% of the class are international students, representing more than 75 countries.

The university offers various resources and support services to promote an inclusive community. The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (OIDI) is dedicated to fostering a culture of equal opportunity and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusiveness. They collaborate with different departments and offices to facilitate programming that supports marginalized student populations such as the Group of Six, which serves the African American, Asian American, Latinx, Native American, LGBTQ+, and Women's communities.

There are also several student-led organizations at Tufts that focus on supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds, such as the Pan-African Alliance, the Chinese Students Association, the South Asian Political Action Committee, and the Queer Student Association. These groups engage in cultural, educational, and advocacy activities that promote campus-wide understanding and empower their respective communities.

Overall, many students at Tufts appreciate the diversity on campus and report feeling supported in their various identities. It's still crucial to remember that individual experiences can vary, and you should pay a visit to the campus or attend virtual events, if possible, to get a better understanding of whether the environment suits you personally.
