Seeking advice on NC colleges with interior design programs.

I'm a junior with a strong interest in interior design. As I'm from North Carolina, can anyone throw some light on colleges/universities with thriving interior design programs in the state?

North Carolina hosts several colleges and universities with strong interior design programs. Here are some to consider:

1. Appalachian State University:

It offers a BS in Interior Design as part of its Art Department. The program is accredited by the Council of Interior Design and focuses on both creative and technical skills.

2. East Carolina University:

The Interior Design program, under the College of Health & Human Performance, offers a BFA degree. The program is CIDA-accredited and graduates tend to have a successful track record in finding employment in the industry.

3. High Point University:

Like the others, this university offers a CIDA-accredited Interior Design program and it's actually known for its School of Art and Design, so this could be a strong option.

4. Western Carolina University:

Here you can earn a BS in Interior Design. This program combines technical, creative, and critical thinking skills to prepare you for the industry.

Just a reminder that while these noted programs are strong academically, you should also take into account factors such as cost, size, location, student life, and so on when making a college decision. Make sure to visit these campuses (if possible) or take virtual tours, interact with current students/alumni, and attend college info sessions to get a sense of what life would be like at each of these institutions. Additionally, you might want to think about what specifics you are looking for in an Interior Design program to help guide your decision and use that as a talking point when conversing with university representatives.
