D1 Wrestling Schools?

Hey, y'all. I'm pretty invested in wrestling right now, and I've definitely got ambitions for competing at college level. Can anyone hook me up with a list or criteria for D1 wrestling schools to research?

Hello! It's wonderful that you're passionate about continuing your wrestling career in college.

While you can find Division I wrestling schools by searching on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) site, here are some Division I schools known for their strong wrestling programs which you might consider:

1. Penn State University: This is one of the top wrestling colleges in the country with numerous NCAA wrestling championships.

2. University of Iowa: Another powerhouse in college wrestling, the Hawkeyes have a storied wrestling program with a strong record of success.

3. Ohio State University: Consistently ranks among the top wrestling programs.

4. Oklahoma State University: This school has a rich wrestling history and has won numerous team national championships.

5. Cornell University: The Big Red wrestling team is consistently competitive and has won multiple Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships.

Factors you might consider while researching these, or other schools, could include the team's past performance, the coaching staff, the roster, and the facilities. Additionally, look at the academic programs and campus life to assure they align with your other interests and career goals.

A wrestling recruitment process is also something worth researching. You will likely need to reach out to coaches with a resume that details your athletic achievements and skills, as well as a video that showcases your abilities in matches.

Just keep in mind, a successful athletic career is often complemented by a solid academic foundation. So while wrestling D1 could be your dream, keep your academic and career goals in mind while selecting a school. Good luck with your research!
