Looking for Nutrition Major Recommendations

Hi folks, I've recently developed an interest in Nutrition and I'm considering majoring in it. I'm a little stumped though on which colleges have the best programs. Any recommendations?

Sure! There are numerous colleges across the U.S. that offer stellar Nutrition programs. Here's a short list that might guide your college selection process:

1. Cornell University: Their Division of Nutritional Sciences is renowned and offers a comprehensive nutrition major where you can study everything from molecular nutrition to community nutrition.

2. University of California--Berkeley: The Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at Berkeley allows you considerable flexibility in shaping your coursework to your interests, whether those are in public health, dietetics, or molecular nutrition.

3. Tufts University: Touted for its School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts offers a unique blend of nutrition, biomedical sciences, and public health training.

4. Purdue University: The Department of Nutrition Science at Purdue too has a rich heritage. They also have a high succes rate for students applying to dietetic internships, graduate school, or finding employment post graduation.

5. University of Illinois--Urbana-Champaign: Their Division of Nutritional Sciences is highly interdisciplinary and is an exciting environment for those interested in both fundamental and translational research.

When choosing a college for your nutrition major, however, also consider what specific aspect of nutrition you're most interested in, be it dietetics, sports nutrition, public health, etc. The flexibility and electives within the program as well as research opportunities or internships can make quite a difference. These factors could affect your decision immensely.

Lastly, make sure to consider other criteria that matter to you in a college experience as well, such as location, size, culture, etc. Happy hunting!
