Hunting the best econ schools!

Ay guys, I'm super into Economics and looking to study it at undergrad level. Could someone recommend the best schools for studying Economics? I'm not just talking about Ivy Leagues, but any schools that have strong programs. Thanks in advance!

Absolutely, there are many excellent Economics programs out there, both in and outside of the Ivy Leagues.

Starting with Ivy Leagues, you can't go wrong with Harvard and Princeton. Both have top-tier Economics programs that are widely recognized for the strength of their faculty and the depth of their course offerings. They both have rigorous curriculum which will equip you well if you plan to continue in this field.

Stepping away from the Ivy Leagues, University of Chicago deserves a mention. The "Chicago School of Economics" is a school of thought in itself and their economics program is one of the best. Being in the vibrant city of Chicago would give you lots of opportunities to network and seek internships.

MIT is another non-Ivy that often tops lists for Economics. It's renowned for its rigorous, math-heavy approach and its faculty roster is filled with prominent economists.

You should also consider Stanford. It has a fantastic Economics department and the benefit of a location in the heart of Silicon Valley, which could provide unique internship and job opportunities.

For liberal arts colleges, Amherst and Williams are renowned for their Econ programs. At these smaller institutions, you would likely have smaller class sizes and more consistent access to professors.

Lastly, a public university worth highlighting is University of California, Berkeley. It's one of the best public universities with a strong program in Economics. Plus, residing in California offers great opportunities to engage with the local economy and businesses.

Remember to thoroughly research each program to determine which best fits your personal preferences and professional goals. Regardless of where you go, having a clear understanding of what economic discipline you wish to focus on and the type of environment in which you'll thrive will help shape your choice.
