Looking for colleges with stand-out Software Engineering programs?

Hi! So I’ve wanted to get into software engineering ever since I did a coding camp a few years ago. I'm starting to think about applications and I was wondering, does anyone have suggestions about colleges that have really good software engineering programs? Bonus points if they're known for their internships or co-op opportunities.

Sure, I'd be happy to suggest a few universities known for their programs in software engineering.

- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): MIT is well-known for its computer science and engineering programs overall, including software engineering. It has an extremely strong reputation in the tech industry.

- Stanford University: Located in Silicon Valley, Stanford has an influential presence in the tech industry. The computer science department, under which software engineering falls, is quite robust.

- Carnegie Mellon University (CMU): CMU stands out with its specific degree in Software Engineering, rather than just a track within general Computer Science.

- University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley): UC Berkeley has a strong Computer Science program and, being in California, they have numerous connections to tech companies for internships.

- University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC): UIUC is also known for engineering and computer science programs and offers a specific degree in Software Engineering.

- University of Waterloo: In Canada, Waterloo has a highly-rated software engineering program and an impressive co-op program. Students alternate between academic and work terms, gaining up to two years of relevant work experience.

Remember, when considering these programs, ensure that the other aspects of the universities (like campus culture, location, class size, etc.) are appealing and fit your criteria as well.
