how much is the act

Hey, I'm thinking of taking the ACT as well as the SAT. Can anyone tell me what the cost of sitting for the ACT is? Also, what does the fee cover? Are there any additional costs I should be aware of?

Sure, I can help with that. As of the current time, the basic registration fee for the ACT without the writing portion is $68. If you choose to take the ACT with the writing section included, the fee goes up to $93.

The registration fee covers the cost of taking the test and sending your scores to up to four colleges or universities. Keep in mind, though, that you'll need to select these schools when you register for the test.

In addition to the basic registration cost, you might encounter additional fees. For example, if you want to send your scores to more than four schools, you’ll be charged $18.50 for each additional school. There's also a late registration fee of $38 for those who register after the normal deadline.

Remember to factor these potential costs into your budget when planning for the ACT. If you’re eligible, you might want to consider an ACT fee waiver that covers the cost of the registration. You would need to check with your school counselor to see if you qualify for this.
