What's the undergraduate experience at San Jose State University like?

Hey everyone! I'm a high school junior considering SJSU for undergraduate studies. I'd love to know more about the general undergrad experience there. How's the academia, campus life, social scene, etc.?

San Jose State University (SJSU) is nestled in the vibrant Silicon Valley, which provides students not only with a bustling surrounding city but also opportunities for career development through internships, jobs, and networking in tech-focused sectors.

On the academic front, SJSU is particularly well-known for its Engineering and Business programs. Given its Silicon Valley location, it has a strong focus on technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, but the university offers an array of majors to choose from, and class sizes tend to be moderate, which allows students more opportunities for one-on-one interaction with professors.

The social scene at SJSU is fairly dynamic and diverse. The university has over 400 student organizations ranging from academic and professional clubs to cultural and interest-based groups. Greek life is also fairly active on campus, although not everyone chooses to participate. There are also numerous events, both on and off campus, that cater to a variety of interests, and the school spirit is quite high, especially during sporting events.

As for campus life, the school is situated in a bustling, urban environment, which means you'll have access to a variety of restaurants, shops, cultural activities, and entertainment. The campus itself has lots of open spaces for studying or hanging out in between classes. Students can also enjoy the recently renovated Student Union, and the new Recreation and Aquatic Center. The housing situation is a mix of on-campus and off-campus options, with many students finding apartments in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Lastly, the student body is highly diverse, which adds to the vibrancy of academic and social life.
