Max possible score on ACT? Confused junior here 😕

Can anyone enlighten me about the max score one can achieve on the ACT? Any great tips to reach that top score?

The highest possible score you can earn on the ACT is a 36. The test consists of four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Each section is scored out of 36, and your overall ACT score is the average of these four section scores.

As for tips to reach that top score, here are a few:

1. Understand the Test Structure: Knowing what to expect on the test can certainly help. The ACT has its own logic and way of presenting questions, which can be different from what you see in your school work.

2. Practice, practice, practice: This can't be emphasized enough. The more you practice, the more familiar you'll be with the test's format and the better you'll be able to handle your timing on the test.

3. Review Your Mistakes: When you take practice tests, review your answers afterwards. Understand what you did wrong and how to correct it. This will help to prevent making the same mistakes on the actual test.

4. Time Management: The ACT has quite a rigid timing structure so practice under timed conditions to get used to the pace you need to maintain.

Remember that while a high ACT score can certainly help your college applications, it's not the only thing colleges look at. They also take into consideration your grades, course rigor, extracurricular activities, and essays among other things. Best of luck with your ACT prep!
